Use the included lanyard to wear the 5802WXT around your neck as a necklace. You can wear the 5802WXT in whichever way is most convenient for you. Also, the recessed button allows you to easily feel for the panic even if you have it in your pocket or you are in the dark. The panic button is slightly recessed to prevent accidental activations. To activate an alarm from your Honeywell 5802WXT, you must press and hold the panic button for (2) seconds. Please program the 5802WXT based on the type of response you want when the panic button is depressed. The most common zone type responses for a 5802WXT is ‘24 Hour Silent’ for a silent panic alarm or ‘24 Hour Audible’ for an audible panic alarm. Regardless of whether you choose to program your 5802WXT as supervised or unsupervised, you should program it as loop 1 and choose the proper zone type response. If you intend to leave your home with your wireless panic button (if you have it attached to your keychain), you should program the 5802WXT with a ‘UR’ (unsupervised) input type to avoid unnecessary trouble signals. Also, if you take the 5802WXT out of range of your Honeywell wireless receiver or control panel, a supervision error will be displayed for the zone programmed for the wireless panic. This supervision signal will include battery status for the 5802WXT so you will know right away when the battery is getting low. The wireless transmitter will send an automatic message to the panel or receiver every 70-90 minutes. If you choose ‘RF’, the 5802WXT will be supervised by your wireless alarm control panel or wireless receiver. When programming the 5802WXT, you can choose to enroll is as an ‘RF’ input type or as a ‘UR’ input type. The wireless panic button will use up (1) wireless zone when programmed to your alarm control panel. You can also add the 5802WXT to any VISTA Series alarm control panel that has been upgraded with a Honeywell wireless receiver. The 5802WXT wireless panic button is a great addition to a Honeywell L5100 LYNX Touch wireless alarm control panel. As the 5802WXT-2 can only be triggered by pressing and holding both buttons at the same time, some people find that it is better for minimizing false alarms. If you would rather use a (2) button wireless panic button, you should look at the Honeywell 5802WXT-2 instead. While both devices can trigger an alarm with the touch of a button, the 5802WXT looks much cleaner and is a smaller round device. The 5802WXT is a newer and better version of the Honeywell 5802MN wireless panic button. Each 5802WXT includes a necklace, wristband and belt clip so that you can wear your wireless panic button in a variety of ways. Be careful not to bend the wireless transmitter's antenna while removing or installing a battery.The Honeywell 5802WXT is a wireless panic button that can be used with any Honeywell wireless security system. Simply remove the (2) cover screws to get inside the 5869 to replace the battery. The 5869 will send a low battery trouble signal when the battery if almost dead. The commercial panic button is powered by one 3V lithium battery. If you are experiencing RF supervision troubles, you should either relocate your Honeywell 5869 commercial panic button or you should add a Honeywell 5800RP wireless repeater between the security system and the 5869. If the 5869, is out of range a RF supervision trouble signal will be activated until the device is seen by the wireless security system. The nominal wireless range of the 5869 wireless panic switch is 200' back to the wireless security system. You should not install the 5869 under metal counters or desks as it will reduce the panic button's wireless range. Another tamper can be triggered if the 5869 is forcibly removed from its mounting surface. One tamper will be triggered if the cover of the holdup switch is removed. The Honeywell 5869 has (2) separate tamper switches. The panic switch is then ready to trip another panic alarm. ![]() ![]() Once the holdup switch has been activated, you must use the included reset key to restore the 5869. However, you may program the holdup switch with whichever response type suits your application. Typically the 5869 wireless transmitter is programmed as a 24 hour silent zone type so that the central monitoring station can send the police immediately without the intruder being tipped off with a local alarm. With the 5869 panic button mounted under a counter or desk, the employee simply sticks his or her finger in the hole and pulls forward to activate a panic alarm even when your security system is disarmed. Protect your employees by providing them with a discreet way to signal a panic alarm. ![]() The 5869 works great as a holdup button for underneath a desk or cash register. The Honeywell 5869 is a wireless commercial panic switch.
